James Harrington
LLB (Hons), LLM

James Harrington was admitted as a Notary Public in 1998 following a distinguished academic career at King's College London and the University of Cambridge. In the years since, he has established a practice recognised across the legal profession for its thoroughness, discretion, and expert handling of complex international matters.

He acts for a broad range of clients: private individuals navigating cross-border transactions, families managing estates and succession matters in foreign jurisdictions, and corporate clients - including FTSE-listed companies and international law firms - requiring reliable and efficient notarial support.

His register records notarial acts executed in connection with 53 countries, with particular depth of experience in France, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, and the broader European Union. He is fluent in English and French and has a working knowledge of Spanish, which enables him to advise directly on documents drafted in those languages - reducing the risk of error and expediting the authentication process.

Mr Harrington is a long-standing member of the Notaries Society and keeps abreast of developments in international notarial practice, including changes to Apostille requirements and the evolving requirements of foreign authorities.

"My role is to ensure that your documents are in precisely the right form to be accepted wherever they are going - and to make that process as straightforward as possible for you."

The Practice

Location

Our office is located at 109 Buckingham Palace Road, London SW1W 0SR, in the heart of Westminster - steps from Victoria Station and within easy reach of Belgravia, Mayfair, and the City. The nearest station is London Victoria (National Rail, Underground District and Circle lines).

Discretion

Client confidentiality is not merely a professional obligation - it is the foundation on which trust is built. All matters are handled with absolute discretion. We do not discuss client affairs with third parties, and our office is designed to afford privacy to all who visit.

Personal Service

Every notarial act is performed personally by James Harrington. We do not delegate notarial work to assistants or trainees. When you instruct this practice, you have the direct attention of a senior notary who has been practising since 1998.
